Well decided to give this program a whirl. All I can say is the vid quality is simply outstanding. Very impressed. Right from the git go the opening logo's etc. are sharper than anything I've seen. It seems to have quite a few nice features and is pretty quick. It will not decrypt so you will need your fav app for that (I use AnyDVD).

Seems to have a few less options on audio streams though, and doing 'movie only' I still ended up with a now useless menu. Any users out there who might know how to get rid of the menu?

I'm surprised it's users haven't been more vocal in singing it's praises. It's really that good, the best vid quality of the one-click tools. Get the trial and give it a shot.

I guess I never really gave it much consideration because it was from the guys that make video players. They talk a good game on the website tho. Any conflicts with other burning apps so far?

I just bought this app myself. 1st movie done and looks great , better quality than DVD2One. I am doing more testing and will post my results. It did take a little longer about 5 mins more than DVD2One. Not giving it my recommendation yet, havent tested it long enough. But the first burn 'The Missing' was execellent !!

6 PIONEER A07 / 107 8x ± hacked firmware
RITEK RULES !!!!
Best way to backup that movie
1 DVD Decrypter 3.5.2.0
2 DVD2One 1.5.2
3 Nero 6.3

No conflicts so far, except it did goof up my autorun settings (not the first time this has happened).

If anyone is having problems getting autorun to stick this little app will fix things.

Mystice... please let me know if I am teaching you to suck eggs but :-

Its quite easy to process a "movie only" rip through this package if you first run the rip through DVD2one or DVDshrink with no compression then using intervideo to compress.

You could also run an entire full rip through DVDstripper then process the files through intervideo.

I constantly use 2 or 3 packages to get the results i want.

Again apologies if you use similar methods to me.

Addition :-

I have just downloaded the trial version of intervideo dvd copy. I ran a difficult movie through it JFK (3 hours long over 7 gig ripped file) In my opinion the results were far worse than Pinnacle instant copy (using hidden settings editor 1.4.1) There was signifcant mosquito effect & macro blocking. I also ran the movie through DVD2one 1,4 to compare with intervideo. I am sorry to say but with my eyes (on a 44" projection tv) dvd2one also beat it for video quality, although the difference was only marginal.

Intervideo was fast & it was a cinch to get up and running but I dont think I will be using it again.

Guess for the moment Pinnacle still wins hands down..it;s just a shame that it takes so effing long, but it's generally worth the wait.

Hey brian,

I'm of the lazy sort so I don't like taking too many steps or using multiple programs. My main program of choice has always been InstantCopy 8 (the only change has been to up the 7% DVDAnalyzeMax to 10% in the registry) using 'Movie Only' direct to disc with AnyDVD. I get annoyed with it some times though, because every so often it will undershoot the target size and I end up with a 3.6G disc. But I've always felt the quailty was great even dropping down to the 50% range (a softening occurs but never any macro blockiness). And for anyone interested in InstantCopy 8 they offering it for $29 these days.

Speed is never an issue with me, I still mostly use 2X RitekG03's (excellant media, priced right and a perfect match for my burner). I just start the process and walk away.

But I value your opinion (as the purpose of this post was to get them).

For anyone interested this is what got me started on trying InterVideo.

Thanks for the reply. With Hidden settings editor on Pinnacle instantcopy 7..i never get the "undersizing" problem, perhaps im the lucky one in the pack. I have stayed away from Pinnacle instantcopy 8..because ive "heard" that it's not upto version 7.

I clicked on that link that you posted. Its very interesting, to say the least.I personally, think its been rigged. Check out the "original" & "intervideo" screen shots @ 300% for all the pics. They all look the same to me!! I think that forum may have some "special" sponsors..if you get my drift.

InterVideo DVD Copy is supposed to let you 'merge' several videos onto one DVD.

Anyone know how to do this? Their support team does not answer my e-mails.

Thanks

I currently use ver. 1.2. The merge function was introduced in ver. 2. Are you using ver. 2?

MysticE; Looks like I have v.1.1.28.

The box that it came in says that merging is available so I figured I could do it. But inside the program itself I do not see any function for merging.

I'm going to install the free trial of version 2 once just to see how it operates.

Thanks for the info.

The version I now have is 1.2.1.28 Gold. Looks like it is an update.

It has a buton labeled M-DVD but it is inactive.

I still have the ability to customize and remove chapters with this version though.

Soooo... I guess I'll try version 2 now and see what happens, but I think it is just a free trial.
