I have the full version of Nero 6.0 and have been having problems with it. When I try to burn my VIDEO
_TS files it freezes. When I went and looked at the guide for burning DVDs with Nero it said that I needed to use the compilation DVDVideo, and the Nero6 Ultra doesn't have DVDVideo only MiniDVD. Are they the same, or is MiniDVD something else?

MiniDVD is a movie in dvd structure but on a cd. You still have chapters and menu's, and can even have dvd quality footage, tho obviously you're limited by space and ultimately quality.

One of the Nero options doubles the capacity of a cd, that might be this but i'm thinking not.

You need to choose dvd video for a movie, maybe you don't have the mpeg2 encoder, but i don't think you need that for a dvd video.

My advice? Dump Nero and use recordnowDX 4.6, without fail this creates every dvd, and even created the Nero dvd output files from Nero revision into a working dvd, even when Nero and my dvd player s/ware wouldn't read it.

Also i've just finished putting all my mp3's onto dvds, full capacity and all play in my dvd players.

RecordNow DX 4.6 imho is def better than Nero. Actually the only reason it's still on my hdd is for the autoburn feature in DVD Shrink, but now that it can burn with dvd decryptor? Bye bye Nero.

Maybe just slightly too quick to kill off something you don't understand ??

Hi ya Rumast,

We get tossed back together once again, Huh ??

The answer to your problem is at the top LEFT-hand corner of your "New Compilation" window - it's a tiny box which now reads "CD", you must change to "DVD" - then you will see the "Video DVD" icon that you are looking for :-)

If you wish, here are the step by step directions for using Nero -
HINT:
First, create a folder for your work on your desktop - load your files there - make sure they are in a folder named VIDEO_TS written like that (all in Caps) - some programs like Shrink will make the properly named folder for you, others you must make the folder yourself - Nero needs that folder in order to work properly - then follow this
Step by Step ?
Do not use Nero Wizard.
When you open Nero Burning ROM, you will be at the ?New Compilation? window. Directly under the title ?New Compilation? is a choice block to choose either DVD or CD, choose DVD. Directly under that click on the DVD Video Icon. Then click ?New? in the upper right corner of that screen, NOT the main screen.
You now are in the DVD Video window. In the left screen, click VIDEO_TS. In the File Browser screen, 3rd from the left, trace your path to the VIDEO_TS folder, the one you made earlier holding all of your files and click on that folder. All of your VIDEO_TS files are now opened in the right screen. Click on the top file, hold down the ?Shift? key and then click the bottom file thereby hi-lighting the entire column of files. Click and (holding the left mouse button down) drag the entire column of files to the open screen, second from the left.
Now click the icon on the task bar that shows a match on a disc, and then click ?OK? and now ? Guess what my Friend ? You are done !!!

NOW, STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER ! !
Keep all fingers and toes away from Ms. Computer. Never mess with the lady when she?s working ? it would be hazardous to your health, you understand -
Go and have your coffee, when Nero is done, she will let you know ;-))

Enjoy, ?Pete?
