Hey everyone i found this little gem on xbins and there is a full thread on it over at xs http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=675443 (mods please remove and notify me if i am not allowed to link to other boards). it is a cd made by frosty u can burn urself as it is an iso file. it lets u boot to ntfsfordos and already has all needed tools to mod the 3 main drive types all on the disc and the newest fw 1.5 - all u need is a NTFS HDD to be set as the C: and it will place all the dump files in a folder named for the drive type you are using. it does capture all required serial info for liteon drives.
Maybe i was out of the loop and this has already been discussed here, if so my bad for making new thread but i didnt see one already. I just couldnt let this one slip by unnoticed to the afterdawn community.

yeah i saw a guy trying to sell those on craigslist to people saying they could mod their own 360s with those. seems like it would be pretty nice to have that. might have to try it next time i need to flash a drive for a customer.

lol what a douche, selling a free cd. i already booted the disc up to a server i have here at work but it had the problem with the disc drive and reported the samsung or anything drive command as bad, but all that is covered in the thread at xs so it wasnt surprising. and i was only booting it to see what it was like, not actually trying to mod right now.

The NFTS 4 DOS method is fine if you dont have a motherboard which supports removeable media (flash drive)
The only reason I really dont like to reccommend this method is because you have a CD drive and a HDD hooked up, I've seen a couple horror stories on this where it pulled the firmware off of their CD/DVD drive instead of the 360 drive, said it was ok and they flashed a different firmware to their 360 drive.
Also heard of it * hard drives up.

lol yes all those things can happen thru USER ERROR. in the end there is no safeguard against dumb people and that is the reason why those things happen cause people do not pay attention to what they are doing. You chose the wrong port or drive then yes ur hdd or drive can be messed up but the samething can happen with iprep IF you do not unplug all other drives. bottom line is if you are not prepared and have educated yourself then it is your fault no one elses.

FINALLY, something that I[b] can contribute!! lol. I actually tried to flash a Samsung and a Benq drive using the disk. I have a VT6421 in my pc (piece of crap IBM, but it works) with the latest driver. On both drives, it would hang on reading bank 0, never mind trying to write anything. I followed the directions to the T, but always would hang on bank 0. I even made sure that my cd rom (IDE) was set as first in boot order and [b]STILL nothing past bank 0. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I am able to use iprep on the same pc using a flash drive with no problems.
If It ain't Modded, I don't want it~!

Feel free, its not very appropriate for youngsters to get into learning fundamentals of piracy either, but I guess there isn't a stupid ass rule for that either for which im very surprised. This site doesnt have alot of rules but the ones you do have were thought up by a half-ass retard.
I know your just moderating rules set by the site owner, but why dont you go make yourself useful somewhere else, you bring next to near nothing to this forum.

I would be living a sad life if I had to count on you god damn newbs to answer my questions. I just signed back up to answer a couple peoples questions and antagonize you a little bit.
@stealth, Your right man, I just cannot handle not being a part of this awfully horrible site that offers nothing besides a couple senior members that dont know their ass from a hole in the wall. But hey at least they can leach from other sites and read directions. :)

huge question. does this mean you can just pop the cd in with the chipset and dvd drive hooked up, and flash it with the new firmware?

i dont think anyone in this thread has asked for help untill you and the one guy before. but i cant help him cause i havent gotten a 360 to flash with this method yet. sp untill now its just been spz7ke trying to ruin it.. but noi guess we are just like him and do not help people........
