Hi,

I think that you need to set capacitance of the flux capacitor at most to 105 % and no more. If more capacitance is required, then do as Ferguj1 does and use 2 flux capacitors.

Dang it ! Where is that fortune telling crystal ball that I bought from Loco industries ? Can't seem to find it, now that I need it !

How am I suppose to read minds (OP"S) w/o a crystal ball ?

I recently replaced my old setup with a new more powerful quad capacitor system. If anyone is interested in the old please call 867-5309 :P

Quads!!!! ferg where did you get those babies. they aren't even supposed to be for delivery till Sept 09.

For any interested,

iEEE specification 1394 states that the use of tantalum hydride based flux capacitors be used over the standard tantalum oxide base whenever the frequency is > 2500 Hz. If the spec is not followed, then distortion in both TIM and IM spectra will be evident.The time base needs to be set below 0.01 ms
If jitter is encountered at > 1.5ppb, then quad flux capacitors are necessary.Substitution of low dielectric components as electrolytics will cause irreparable data corruption.

This may be the cause of your distortion
