I want to build my first comp, a real good gaming comp for around $1000. I need someone to pick out the hardware and links for a complete build. I also want to know if HP builds a good gaming comp.

Generally, I steer clear of prebuilds for gaming PCs, as they're either woefully inadequate, or way overpriced.
What sort of games will you be playing, and what size monitor do you use?
WOW and the newer games. Some online and some not. Monitor is HPwidescreen 19in. What I need people to do is give me a list of hadrware and if possible links to build as good a gaming comp for around $1000. This includes case, motherboard, CPU, RAM, hard drive, optical drive, video card ond power source. Everything including OS to build a fast dependable game comp.

If you want extreme gaming, why not include a bigger monitor in that budget? The HD4830 can handle everything you can throw at it at that small resolution.
