Are they legit DVD's or copies? Sometimes incorrectly ripped movies will have audio issues.

I don't know if it may be same problem or not. But on my one PS2, I have to keep adjusting my AV cable as it makes an awful "humming sound" at times.

Sometimes I just push up or down on it and the sound goes away.

i need a new cable, just keep procrastinating on it.

I suggest dont play dvd movies on your ps2 anymore... it might destroy your lens! Buying a cheap dvd player is much better than replacing your ps2's lens! Another issue is, maybe your friend's ps2 cant read the dvd movie very well thats why its making that kind of noise! What is the color of your dvd? is it gold, white or blue?
