I have a 160GB hard disk attached via the usb to THE BOX
Its a little noisy so I turn it off at night
However the next time I turn it on to record to the box asks me do I want to format it. My only options are format or cancel so it appears that it no longer recognises the disk

Once I format it works fine again

Any ideas how to avoid this as it means anything previously recorded on the disk is gone
