Hi, I have a wii v 3.3 with a modchip. I downloaded a japanese game and updated the software to play. now when i try to go into system settings, it wont work -it gives the opera error. i downloaded a semi brick fix here: http://hackmii.com/2008/05/semi-brick-fix-discs/

but it didnt work - said the files were corrupt. how can i get my wii settings back? I don't have homebrew installed - i heard that if you play a new game (like animal crossing) it will force your wii to update to 3.4 but it will unbrick it.

my question is will my old modchip work on my wii once its 3.4?

If your wii was at 3.3 before you semi bricked it then you bricked it with 3.4J. A semi-brick-fix disk wont work on a wii past 3.2 unless you can boot it through gecko OS on the homebrew channel. Since you dont have homebrew already installed theres no way to restore it until a game comes out with a new firmware version.

And for the record, animal crossing only has 3.3.
