Hey guys. Im a Demonoid user right now, with a 1.6 ratio. I am really looking for a much more private and all around better torrent site to use. Really getting tired of all these torrents with everyone leeching and nobody seeding. I was wondering if any of you could suggest a better site.

No body is seeding is pretty harsh. The new materal is open to the public and can be found by public search engines.

If you want super fast torrents you have to be invited to invite only sites by someone you know. You could also try Warz, you have to pay for a rapidshare account but I have found that it is faster than torrents and has a bigger selection of older stuff and music. And the good thing about it is that it is a direct download so no seeds are needed

ALL these "looking for better torrent site" topics are no more than hidden invite begging.. hoping that the retarded members will pm complete strangers with invites.. therefore making the whole point of member only sites a lost cause..
I suggest that 1: we don't do anything but report these for invite begging.. whether they directly ask or not... and 2: under NO circumstances help by giving out invites to anybody who is asking...
ALL these topics about "this torrent site is down".,. and "help me I'm banned from such and such" and "does anybody know if".. are all the same thing... losers begging for invites to private trackers.
I have given the odd invite to people in the past on various sites... not because they asked, but because I saw they were having trouble getting hold of something legal and I happened to know where it was... that and they were nice.

Hello anyone has anyone heard about a site called isohunt.com
it is totaly free just go to the site search for what ever you are
looking for and download it and also the site takes all the seeders from other sites and downloads from them too and believe me it
is fast I once downloaded 400MB on a 384KB line in 9minutes

iso hunt is just as bad as mininova. its too public so it has nothing but leechers. i have not found any sites that are as good as demonoid and piratebay

mickK, you are right about it not being private but either is Pirate Bay. You can't dis ISO Hunt and praise Pirate Bay in the same breath. BP has nice pages etc and it is a great public site. ISO Hunt draws from both of them plus dozens more. It is a GREAT site. What is good about ISOH is the torrents often have several trackers which is helpful with poorly or not seeded torrents. There is some wisdom sticking to private sites these days.
I think there are too many cry-babies. Torrents are what they are an no crying will fix it. If you don't like it pay for something better but don't waist space crying about it.
varnull, you hit in on the head. Who is going to give an arrogant moron like cqjrec, an invite? That is a sure way to bring the neighborhood down.

I use the bay.. and I use demonoid.. all the other private trackers I belong to find my account parked these days.. because with the way the UK isp's are being total t---s about allowing us to use the bandwidth WE HAVE PAID FOR it's impossible to keep a ratio. The private trackers need to lighten up on the ratio nazi behavouur.. or they will go out of business real fast.. these "1337" pirated you find on them swamping everybody and having ratios of 10,000 to 1 don't help the community.. with their (obviously stolen) t1 or t3 connections.. they are a harm not a help.
I gave up playing the ratio game.. I use the big public trackers.. and I will happily seed something which is hard to get or little used.. but I ain't going to stick my neck out by uploading for weeks and weeks on end just to satisfy some retarded site rule.. demonoid have a good policy.. try to stay above .80 .. they understand the realitry of the world we are living in.. that it isn't always possible to give back more than you get down.. sometimes it isn't possible to give back 20%.. what about the sites where everybody has lovely ultra fast european internet.. they grab their 5 gigs in 10 minutes.. and seed back at 400k.. by the time out uk poor old 2mb gets the files down to start seeding all the others are seeding and there are no more leechers.. screw them.. and screw their ratios.. It's tempting to invite mpaa/riaa people onto their ratio nazi trackers just because of that kind of arrogant "ratio for the sake of it" bigheadedness.. The internet.. and torrents .. were about sharing, not about scoring points for having some stupid high ratio.. it's not big and it doesn't impress me one bit.

Comcast does not care about uploads that I know of. My downloads are usually hammered but the uploads are never touched. The reality is Sandvines seriously limits may down loads. I guess that there is only so much bandwidth available for uploads they just don't care.
It is easy for me to be generous so I am not proud. I just might need all the 'fat' later if things change.
I use Peerguardian for my IP blocker. In Windows, the icon in the lower right tray flashes if it is blocking heavily. That flashing was getting worse and worse since the fall. I have just started experimenting with cutting out public trackers. I still have public jobs and I am still giving back to public sites but the flashing only occures during start up. I am guessing for every 100 blocked at lest one gets through. I am happy to keep a lower profile by limiting my use of public trackers.

Yes, that's true but I think the point is it's becoming very difficult to maintain a 1:1 ratio on private site's now. I'm finding I have to very choosy about what I download, the best for me seem to be those torrent's with just the uploader and as few peer's as possible which is hard to get. I could download any other file at full speed but I'd never get near 1:1.
