How come i can downgrade my psp but..

My friend wanted me to downgrade his psp for him and then upgrade it to 5.00 m33 and i`ve been doing this for alot of other people with fat psps and it worked easily with the magic memory stick and pandora battery, but when i tried it on my friend`s slim piano black psp, it didnt work. His slim psp is 2001 and so i tried upgrading my slim to ofw 5.03 o see if i would get the same problem and i didnt, i was able to go back to 5.00 m33 easily..

so i wanted to know what am i doing wrong or what may be causing this problem. thanks

He may have one of the un-hackable motherboards... TA-88v3 I think.

If your friend bought it and it had firmware 4.01 or higher, he has the unhackable motherboard. Sorry.
