I've got four consoles and a DVD player going into my TV. I've got one of those switchboard things for composite cables but that only fits four. My TV also has VGA and S-Video inputs so I decided to just buy a VGA cable for my 360 picture to go through. Problem is, it's got this green tint to it. If I mess with the cord, I can make the tint turn red but that really isn't any better. It isn't the 360's fault because I've tested it with the composite cables and it works fine. So, what is going wrong? This might actually be a question better suited for a TV board now that I think about it. But I figure this has to have happened to someone here.

either the cable or the port on the tv is bad. this happens with pc monitors alot if one of the pins gets bent or shoved too far into the cable /port it is almost like a certain color is missing or maybe too much of another. i would return the vga cable and get another and if it still happens maybe try using the vga cable to plug a laptop or pc into and see if it will output to the tv in correct colors, if it does then maybe the 360 isnt likeing the vga. if it doesnt work and u have the same problem with the laptop displaying on the tv then it is a problem with the tv and the port is probably bad.

Try it on your pc monitor and see if you get the same problem.

That was a good idea. I plugged my 360 up to my monitor and the picture was perfect. Then I plugged it back up to the TV and the picture was fine. But then it went red. So the problem now is definitely the VGA port on my TV. I started messing with the plug. If I left it loose and angled it to one side, I could get the picture to look alright for a while but it would eventually get the tint on it. I guess my only option now is to buy an S-Video cable, huh?

have a warranty on the TV? if so maybe they will come fix it. my friend has a 42 inch hdtv and he has had it serviced more than once and the tech just comes to his house and fixes it. standard warranty. i think composite would be better than svideo anyway

No, composite isn't better than S-Video.

The order is
Composite < S-Video < Component < HDMI
