Okay I have a PS3 60GB model with ubuntu linux installed, a Ordinary 576i TV, a HP w19e (1440x900 pixel resolution with DVI-D input)) a av cable, a HDMI~DVI-D cable and no tolerance for S@#T.

I need to know how I output my PS3, on at least the ordinary PS3 O.S. but if possible also linux, through the HDMI~DVI-D cable into my monitor, t doesn't support HDCP and I was wondering if i can manually output 720p (i think my monitor is that) through the HDMI

Through using linux's ps3videomode command that it always comes up INPUT NOT SUPPORTED for anything run in 50Hz but with 60Hz it just has a blank screen, no message, no text NOTHING. I really want to know weather I can do it because otherwise I will have to spend like $250 on a new monitor that has HDCP...
