can I have togheter --backup games and xvid movies -- on my hdd via usb???

Yeah and you need usbadvance for your games and sms for your movies but you need some way to run them first e.g. mod chip, soft mod or fmcb

thanks goth1k , i have "all in one" disc with some aplications like "usbadvance" , etc. but my hdd its FAT32 format in Xp with Norton Magic Partition 8.0 (sorry I have ps2 with infinity 1.93 modchip)

one more question....need to make two or more partitions in my hd (seagate barracuda w/enclosure) to keep apart game backups and movies and how they I do

You could try this app here http://www.sksapps.com/dms/dms3_hdd_tools_48bit.rar although im not entirely sure if it works for usb hdd but you could try it all the same. Hope this helps

Not sure if PS2 can take different partitions. also most games i try with usb dont work well.

thanks goth1k I use this and tell you if was good to me, and yes ps2 don´t recognize only one partition disc

Yes you can only have one partition on the USB drive. USBAdvance does not like more than one partition.

You can have folders on it though.

Also seeing you have the Matrix infinity you will have "to disable "macrovision" under Configuring the Matrix Infinity Menu"

You can just use the USBExtreme win32 utility to format the hdd to FAT32 and to copy games to the hdd.

That other tool posted above by "goth1k" is for IDE HDD using the DMS3 modchip.
