I recently purchase Against the Dark and attempted to back up.
I processed with Dvdfab, latest version 5.2.3.2, no problem. Original movie has capacity of 4.52GB. I did not require DVD shrink so attempted to burn with ImgBurn [2.3.2.0]. For some reason my DVD drive [Pioneer DVDRW DR-KD08HB] is indicating my blank verbatim DVD only has a capacity of 4.38GB.
This is the first time this has happened. I have used this drive and blank disc many times in the past with no problems.
Any idea what could have happened?

A good size to shrink it down would be 4.33GB.

A lot of people wonder why there 4.7GB discs only write 4.38GB at maximum capacity. There is nothing wrong with your disk, but just and industry standard of calculating gigabytes. To be frank there way is incorrect because it actually takes 1024 bytes to make a full MB, yet the industry uses 1000? Go figure.. 4.7 GB discs = 4.38 GB or 4489 MB for DVD-R and 4483 MB for DVD+R.

Since original post I used Shrink to compress file. Fired up ImgBurn and was able to copy original. Funny I never noticed capacity on blank disc before but apparently never had to look at it.
Thanks for your input, as always everyone's help is greatly appreciated.

Setting your target output size to between 4300 and 4400 is a good way to ensure that you don't burn too close to the edge of the disc. Which i believe is what Dialysis was saying in his response to your initial post.
