External Fat32 Seagate still not showing up

I have a 250gb external seagate. Its Fat32, I also put the files in folders of Video Photo Music. When I plug the usb into the ps3 it does nothing but if I just put a normal jump drive in there it reads it right away. Can anyone help me. I thought i was doing the right things with the three folders and didn't need to make a new partition but maybe i do....??

hi i recently had this same problem with the HDD not showing up. it took me a while to find but you need to get a program called Swissknife. format the entire drive for FAT32 and you should be good to go. I tried formatting this in XP with Disk Management, Partition Magic, and even got Macdrive and formatted it in HFS+, but no luck. there was one guy that suggested using this program and it is the only thing so far to work. good luck!
