Hi Folks,
Again i come to you all with my probably silly questions.
At this stage i'm feeling a bit dejected due to my lack of burning skills....i left AD alone for awhile to practice ripping and burning.
i have tried imgburn,dvdshrink,dvdfab,clonedvd2 anydvd and powerdvd and still havnt had the results i was hoping for.
I think so far anydvd for ripping and dvdclone2 for burning are the best i have found(after a lot of trial and error and discs). I can achieve what i believe to be the perfect burn(with graphs to boot,no pun intended)but i just can't get playback outside my p.c. I am using an xbox 360 and a house system dvd player...i'm using dvd+rw and dvd-r discs....they are maxell 16x 4.7Gb. Could my problemo be media?
Some letter i know but i think i will need a shrink after all this.

when you're having playback issues and it plays fine on the pc then it very well may be the media. The best media around is Taiyo Yuden and then Verbatim (read label on Verbatims and make sure they are NOT from India). Taiyo Yudens can be bought online in stores like supermediastore.com, rima.com, meritline.com and maybe newegg.com and other reputable online stores. Depending on your burner... I would try the 8x media as they are truly reliable for all players and burners. You just can't go wrong with this media and I only use Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD+Rs as they have never failed to give me a great burn and player compatibility! so I stopped using other media and have perfected my burns! Using good media to start with makes all the difference.

Mega, mega thanks to all you fine, fine (notice the copies everywhere)people out there who stuck by me,me who couldnt get it right. well i got my hands on some Verbatim Discs and now i'm dumbstruck. Well, maybe just dumb. Everything is working out for me now and i am really amazed at the clarity of playback using an xbox player. I still can't believe the media was the problem all this time.....its going to be back up city around here for awhile .
Thanks again everyone.
Could maybe a senior member contact me? i think i will have to change my username which i think means i have to close this account.
Any takers?

Hey murph. If you run a MID check on those maxells, they'll probably yield CmCMags. Huge difference between them and MCC verbatim and a picky player can tell a difference. Stick with them and Burn on!!!
HP a1118x-b/athlon 64-3300+/BenQ 1650 BCDC/LG 8163B/Modded Wii/Epson-R300 and Ty Watershields!!!

You can find the MID (Manufacture ID) using IMGBurn. Load the blank media in IMGBurn and look in the list to the right. After you get the MID you can go HERE and look for the MID in the quality guide list to see the rating of the disc.
MID is highlighted in blue in example image...
