Sorry to ask what may seem to be easy questions, but just wanted to confirm. I've read alot of the tutorials and watched alot of the videos, but still confused a bit.
I have a Lite-On drive. Ordered my Verbatims. The desktop PC I have is using IDE with nvidia chipsets.
1)If I order the Xecuter Pro kite and also the probe, is that all I'll need? Or will I also need the via pci card as well or something? Wasn't sure, since I was reading that I could hack the program to use the chipset I have? or do I also need the via pci card?
2)Any preferred site to order the above items from?
3)Would I need any other hardware? And which software is preferred using the above items?
Also, I've got an open serial port, so usb or serial doesn't really matter. Which is better then for the Lite On drive? xtractor pro with probe, or connectivity kit 3 pro with spear?
you said you had ide on the motherboard, is there also Sata? if so its worth a shot to try with onboard stuff. if you dont have any sata on your mobo you will need an available pci slot. the via card is really cheap. try newegg.com or microcenter.com if you have the xtractor or ck3 you might as well use usb.
