Neodivx is really easy to use compared with all the other softwares I can see in the guides, etc.
So my question is : Why use something so complicated when neodivx is so simple ? Is it too old ? Is it any good after all ?

Neodivx bites (compared to Gordian Knot).
First thing it did was downgrade my ASPI from 4.71.2 to 4.60! Then, I mean c'mon, if French is not your first language (and as a good Canadian I speak French) you are gonna have trouble.
Neodivx seems very complex, and is the answer to many questions I have not asked. It wants to Rip, Playback, and Burn, and I have these already looked after (I hope SmartRipper, DivX Player and Roxio still function...) I cannot easily use Neodivx to encode, beacause it is new/different and French - I would not describe it as 'really easy to use'. It may not be overly-difficult, but neither is GKnot!
GKnot is tough to improve; it is PERFECT.
If this Neodivx had a language-menu I would try to encode with it, but I have no prob's with GKnot, so... Neodivx is outta MY PC!
Have to sign off now and try to restore my ASPI layer.
Good luck masterjag

OK, so you prefer Gordian Knot. Maybe I'll try this one if I can find a guide somewhere.(A link would be appreciated...).

Everything kewl; got my setup back to normal.
ASPI layer is used to rip DVD to VOB files on harddisk.
Take a look at www.doom9.org for a good GKnot guide.
