Just recently purchased the above.
Philips DVDRW208k, anyone know the cheapest DVD+RW's and where I can get them, also, when writing ripped dvd 9 to the discs after ripping menus and subs and encoding the video down Nero tells me I have only have 4.3 something gigs to play with, is that so or is it something that will be different with other writing software....

Specifying your country would ease things -- majority of our DVD-R guys are from Europe, surprisingly.

Two sites you might want to check:

http://digitalpromo.co.uk/
http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/

...at least I would feel very annoyed when I would compare "plus" prices to "minus" prices, no offence :-)

I had noticed a **slight!!** difference in the prices. Still to late now, got offered a good deal on the writer.
I have been informed also there are advantages to the + type, still have noticed many so far.
Also I have been told that the prices will drop on + media, they are starting to come down now.

The thing is that "minus" camp is taking over the world and many cheap disc manufacturers are pushing more and more discs to this area, therefor "minus" disc prices will drop even further -- cheapest ones in the UK what I've seen were at digitalpromo couple of weeks ago for £0.35. I'm pretty sure, the media price will drop to £0.10 by end of this year if nothing serious will happen meanwhile. Obviously 4x discs cost still around £1-2, but who's in a hurry anyway :-)

But yes, one can just hope that "plus" discs will come down as well, but it doesn't look too rosy right now. Even "minus" writers are getting cheaper, market leader Pioneer a04 ships for less than £200 now.

You convinced me, gone out and got rid of the plus writer, swapped it for a Pioneer A04, discs from the local pc shop for £1.50 for white label 4.7.
I am happy now!!!
