I recently bought a modded 360 from this guy and apparently he has done something to it that shorts the drive out when you open the console up ,so that if you turn round to him and say the console does not work he can see if you have opend it up due to this trap he has installed does anyone know anything about this and the way around it I can see where he is coming from as there will be people who open there system up who don't know what they are doing and try to blame it on the seller

are you sure he really put something in there or is he just telling u that so when u need something done u are forced to use him..

if i were u i would tell this guy to F**K off cause either way that isnt cool. wether he is lieing or not it is just a trick to get u to give him more business.

haha, thats funny has hell, but either way i would open it up for the heck of it and see if hes full of crap or not. but im sure it would be possible to do, just put something in it so when you pull either side of the casing off then it either cuts a wire, or or the wire is already stripped in that spot and it places a piece of metal against it causing it to short out, more than likely the power wires for the drive, thus leading to a fried capacitor or something.

Ummm... yeah.

Let's say, for the sake of conversation, that he actually did do something like this. How many people actually open their 360 with the power cord still plugged in?

You do know that in order to short out the drive, you'd first need power running to it?

So even if he did attempt any type of "kill" switch, you'd easily be able to spot it and remove it before reassembling the console.
