Media Player Classic problem (very frustrated!)

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem or point me in a direction to resolving it. Its driving me crazy.

I've used Real Alternative/Media Player Classic before without problems. Then back in the new year I reinstalled my OS (Windows XP Home) and Real Alternative too. Thought nothing about it until last week when I tried to view an online video (.RAM) and it wouldnt work at all.

Specifically what happens is this. I click on the link to open the video file. Media Player Classic pops up and usually hangs for 1-2 seconds before either:
1. "RealMedia Error" (this is the most common)
or,
2. The standard "MPC has encountered a problem and needs to close" message with the option of sending an error report.

I've tried removing and reinstalling several times now but the result is always the same.."RealMedia Error". I know this is not much info to go on but can provide more if you tell me what. Any ideas on how to resolve this?
