xbox overheating after xclamp?

so i did the xclamp on both clamps, put on some thermo paste, and the 360 instantly says its over heating, and i just dont know what to do

yea i tryed that but the second i turn it on it says its over heating

should i just let it stay on for a lil or something?

lol wow.. dont listen to half of those posts. first of all how much thermal did you use? did you tighten the screws like you were supposed to? what kind of washers did you use? were the chips and heatsinks crystal clear clean like a mirror? do you have a fan on the cpu when overheating?

i used a 5mmx10mm machinehead screw then a spring lock washer, then the motherboad, then nylon washers, then steel, then heat sink, i cleaned the chips to an almost perfect shine, and i put about almost a grain of rice worths of arctic silver thermo paste

started to screw things together, went to do the backing trick and i put the fan on the gpu and it always went to instant two red flashing lights and i was stumped

i am gonna post a guide. You should use this one. it has never steered me wrong. and you are gonna wanna ditch the spring loaded washers. give this a once over. it sounds like its in your screws setup.

woot i fixed it

i just removed one of the washers

so now its screw, steel washer, motherboad, nylon washer, heat sink

its the fans are even quiter :D
