If I upgrade to a custom firmware, say 5.00, will this disable the homebrew stuff? I just got a game and it's asking me to update the PSP but I don't want it to because I'll lose all my emulator's 'n' stuff.

Thanks.

What you have written is contradictory - and confusing.

5.00 is not cfw, but 5.00m33 is.

If you update to OFFICIAL (ie Sony) fw then you won't be able to play homebrew.

What cfw are you on at the moment?

Right now I'm on 1.50. However, a legit PSP game wants me to upgrade to 3.71 before I can play it. Obviously I don't want to do this.

So my question is: How can I play this game without knocking out my homebrew abilities?

This thread should tell you how to upgrade to the appropriate m33 cfw;

If you want to be able to play most of your homebrew try installing LEDA - just google it. It works well with the homebrew that I have on phat and slim.

Just upgrade to custom firmware 5.00m33, if that doesn't try that LEDA thingy that guy mention. download 5.00 offical and 5.00 custom and then change the extension to the correct one and then run them on your psp. If i remember correctly custom is PHP and offical is the other extension.

You cant upgrade straight to 5.00m33 from 1.5 you have to install some cfw in between the 2 and also they are both the same file type except you rename the ofw 500.pbp and the cfw as eboot.pbp (i think the extension is pbp cant think straight @ 02.16) hope this helps

If it aint broke....mod it! ;)
