Hi all,

I'm currently using an NTSC mod-chipped Wii, and my firmware is 3.2U... problem is, I can't seem to play newer games like Need for Speed: Undercover, Animal Crossing: City Folk etc. I'll get a black screen after getting past the Wii Channel...

Would like to know if it's advisable to upgrade? or what would be the alternative method to play newer games that require higher firmware version?

Animal Crossing contains an update for WiiSpeak (Hardware) which needs to be installed before you can get past the black screen issue.

You can install the IOS38-64-v3609.WAD file from the City Folk game if you want to stay at 3.2 firmware.

You can either google IOS38-64-v3609.WAD or you can extract it from a backup ISO of the game itself (Before it has been WiiBrickBlock). After you extract the wad file from the ISO you can then WiiBrickBlock it. HERE is a guide on how to extract WAD files from an ISO.

After you get the IOS38-64-v3609.WAD file you can install it using WAD Manager. After installing it you should get past the black screen.

Have no idea what to tell you about Need for Speed: Undercover.
