PSP 3.52 Official Firmware - Help Please!!!

I know that this has probably been discussed here several times and my apologies about this. I recently picked up a PSP with 3.52 firmware on it - my dilema is, how do I convert this to custom firmware, or what firmware should I be using. After reading several sites I'm baffled as to what to do with it - can I upgrade it? can I downgrade it to 1.5? do I need to do that? I'm totally lost!.

If anyone out there can help me, I would be extremely grateful.I don't have a pandora battery, so if I can get this done by using another modded PSP or point me in the right direction of software, it would be fantastic and forever in their debt.

Would love to hear from anyone who can help.....

It's all very confusing and I was in the same boat. The first step is to downgrade to 1.50 - This is essential as you can't load any custom firmwares until you've downgraded to 1.50.
