My HSM 3 is taking 2 hours to backup with DVD FAB HD. Has anyone else had problems with it?

Are you updated to the latest version 5.2.3.2 ?
Is the pathplayer enabled or disabled?
If it is really giving you fits you can try doing the movie only.

Thanks. However, rebooted the computer and worked fine then. Glitch in the system somewhere. Should have tried that first.

RipIt4Me failed on this one. I had to use DVDFab (5232) too.
(Use FixVTS after!)

Error 400, is said to be a general transcoding error or read error. First be sure that you are updated to the latest version of DVDFab. Has DVDFab operated correctly on this computer before? Do you have problems reading any other disks, not just ripping but reading in general?
It could be your drive or an error with Fab that requires a reinstall. Post back with some more details regarding these questions.

I am using 5.2.3.2 dvdfab hd, think thats the latest, i usualy use dvd shhrink but goto fab when that falls, like for dark knight. i use the drive to play games with no problem, so i assume it is reading good. my other burner is fritzy, dont always work, so i am down using my benq ls dw1655. one thing i did notice is when i put it in the tdk (fritzy drive) it tried to read it then a message popped up from dvdfabhd asking if i wanted to send the iso to them to take a look at it, never seen that before. i have reinstalled the software twice. debating on getting a new drive, but want to go blueray and a new computer too, dont see the reasoning behind investing in just a dvd burner for this old cumputer.

Does the original play ok? You haven't noticed any scratches or smudges?
It could just be that your disk needs to be exchanged.
If you are in the market for a new drive, I wouldn't let the fact that you eventually wish to have a blueray drive stop you from upgrading your dvd burner. Don't know much about the blueray drives, (I am sure you can get one that will burn dvd's ?) but for the money I sure wouldn't want to wear it out on burning. Just my 2cents. But for around $20 you can have a brand new drive and then just swap it into the new computer when you buy/build it.

Makes sense, the disc looks good but after running nero cd speed go this message Error, read of srcambled sector without authentication (056f03). guessing the disc is bad.

Not going to get in to a debate comparing AnyDVD to DVDFab, I own both, but it being faster is your opinion to which I think that you would be hard pressed to prove.
Besides, the poster was having problems with DVDFab HD which is free, and works fine by the way. I am not going to press upon someone to purchase a program when they want to try to stick to the free route.

I agree, kinda defeats the purpose of makin backups, i did use anydvd for trial, and yeah it worked fine, but prefer the free route. anyway, here, just for kicks, i tried to backup a movie i know i have done before, same error, but I was getting delayed write errors in windows. So after much checking, the hard drive is smoked, dont know if this affected hsm3 with nero finding bad sectors and all, but poped a WD 320g in and just did max payne with no problem...
