i was running ubuntu 8.10 on my powerbook g4 and i finally got everything working
only errors:
1) if i log out the video goes edited by ddp, loging back in doesnt fix it i need to restart
2) theres no ubuntu boot screen so it sits at a black screen with an underscore blinking until it loads the login screen
other then that it worked fine
yesterday night i decide to put it on hibernate rather then shutting it off cause i would be using again shortly
turned it back on and everything went smooth then at random it turned off with more then 50% battery life
turned it back on and got literally 20+ errors saying crap didnt work and needs to be deleted to try to fix it or something
clicked on delete everything no i have no trash can, no clock etc, basically everything but the applications/places/system menu is gone
i restarted again and i only get 3 error messages now but still nothing is loaded..
can anyone explain wtf happened?!
and if this is a ubuntu to mac problem only then can someone explain how to get debian working?
no wifi, mouse is slow, etc etc etc..
its as if the ppc version of debian doesnt come with anything for a ppc its edited by ddp.
this edited by ddp is confusing me but im trapped with it now
tried going back to osx an theres no wifi or ethernet devices found when i install osx and it wont let me use the computer until i have a network to conect to so i can only use linux now as a working ox but every install i did hasent lasted me without edited by ddp to the point where i need to reinstall it
i really need help on this because my laptop is edited by ddp cause of this
proprietary hardware.. always the same, especially wireless with macs.. you need to seek help in the specific linux/mac forums that are out there instead of swearing all over this site XD
nobody but a mac user running linux can help you.. I won't have anything from apple.. even free.. for this very reason.
yeah sorry about the language i was just mad because iv been trying to get this working properly for about a month now and still havent had it properly working
and i cant go back to osx so i seem to be stuck with it
also this is a linux question, i dont know if its mac only but ill give it a shot anyways.
i made an account on the ubuntu forums and it said i would get an email with a temp password in it before i can log in, like most forums
only problem it fire fox wont allow any form of google site to open, gmail google search, video.google, images.google, maps.google, etc. there for i cant check my email to get the password to seak the help i need from the ubuntu forums
any idea's on that?
im thinking *beep* it and format to the glitched out point where i had it usable before then going to the ubuntu forums as my best option iv thought of..
