I just finished replacing the drive in their 360 for a friend of mine, and he says when he hits the power button or the eject button nothing happens, but the controller is able to turn the system on. Any ideas what it might be? I know they all worked when I gave it back to him because I used them to test the system.

hmm maybe the rf board isnt making good connection. but that would only explain the power button not the eject button. is it possible the case is on crooked and causing the buttons to not be pressed properly?

well i pressed everything after it was back together to make sure it all worked, but when you hit the eject button its clicking as though its in the right place like its hitting the button inside the xbox. i dont think he dropped it or anything, but he may have put it down kind of hard and that may have caused something to move just a little. im going to take a look at it in a couple hours and see what the deal is.

yea it must be some physical problem like misalignment or something, its hard to see an electrical or other problem causing the eject and power button to not work at the sametime withthe eject is on dvd drive and power on rf board which is plugged into mobo. almost like 2 separate devices in a way

Don't you just hate that? I mean, my brother and cousins always wants games. They all act like they can't wait for it at all so I rush to do it. 3 days later they call back saying it'll be 3 more days before they can come get it.
LOL, friends/family get off easy. If it was a "customer", He'd be SOL.
