Ok about 3 months ago i began getting te open tray error and with my xbox360 out of warranty MS wanted £60 to replace which i didnt do.
So to get it to read discs i was banging on the top as soon as the disc tray was closed this worked fine but i think its taken its toll on other parts as the xbox would freeze up, there was no pattern to this some games were ok others wouldnt last 2 mins.

Anyway last week i opened my benq drive adjusted some screws inside and it worked perfectly 100% So feeling confident i decided to flash the drive which also worked........now it still freezes up alot but now upon restarting xbox it gets to dash board it shows 1 red light and error code 71 this only occurs if i restart immediatley if i wait even 1 min no red light or error code and it will sit at dashboard for hours without freezing but games still freeze?

I have looked around the forums for ideas so have tried everything like clearing the HDD cache and holding the white button while starting xbox to delete corrupt dashboard updates.
There just seems to be a lack of information surrounding error 71 the general idea behind it is dashboard however i cant help feeling that months of beating lumps out of my xbox may have something to do with it?

What do you think, any suggestions would be appreciated
