So, I was cleaning out my garage today and I found my old PS2Linux Kit. Yep, the one that was selling for $200 back in 2002. For some reason, I decided to re-install it on my PS2. Now that it's installed, I'm having trouble logging on (which I never did before). Upon boot up, I'm presented with a "User Login" screen. I figure during the install, I did not setup any user name or password so I don't need to enter anything. Well, it didn't work that way because I can't manage to get pass the prompt as it keep prompting me to enter the user name and password. It seems those info are mandatory in order to login, so I re-installed Linux. This time I add a user name and password. I then booted up Linux and login using the user name/password I've just created but I still can't get in. I know that the user name and password is correct because I double, triple checked. Am I supposed to use a certain name/pass for my very first logon? And are there any way around this? Any solutions? I know PS2 Linux was released 7 years ago and maybe not too many people uses it now but if there's anyone out there who still uses it or knows how to use it, please help me figure this out. Thanks.
Ive read a bit about installing linux on ps2 but never done it myself and is far as i can tell you should use a password at least 6 characters long but you dont 'need' a user name. If i got anything wrong maybe someone more in the know can put me right on it. Hope this helps
