Hey all, I just bought a 50pk spindle of Memorex +R DL discs.
My drive is Optiarc DVD+-RW ND-3570A 104B (ATA), came standard on my Dell Dimension E510.
When I rip with Shrink or Decrypter and then try to write the .ISO onto one of the discs at 2.4x with Decrypter I automatically get:
And if I hit cancel I get this:
And Nero burn image gives me this:
I have burned DL discs on this drive before but I don't recall the brand. Is this simply a case of my dated drive rejecting Memorex?

First, your media is not the best. Verbatim DL burned at 2.4x seems to be the disk of choice.
Second, you need to update the firmware for your drive. I seen a post stating that the latest version was at least 1.12 as opposed to the 1.04 you have. Do a search and see what you come up with as this is probably what is limiting your drive.

I downloaded ND-3570A firmware 1.12 here but when I run the .exe it says "Target NEC ND-3570A is not found correctly" and automatically closes.

Forget about using DL disks, instead use DVD Rebuilder to reduce it to 4.3GB so you use any disk. It really does a good surprising job of reducing it. Get the free version to give it a try.

If you're going to keep burning DL's Imgburn does a better job setting the layer break.
Or, as earlier suggested...Dvd Rebuilder is a good way to keep great quality and still use SL discs.

I don't have a pocket full of money, so I give Rebuilder a big thumbs up. Shrink, using the Quality Settings, is still useful as well. ImgBurn works with both as a supported burner (Shrink has to be modified). DVDFab Decrypter does a good job removing copy protection. So, with freeware and inexpensive DVD5s, a person doesn't have to go broke with DVD DLs and Hi Def formats. The picture doesn't jump out at you like HD, but then the old TV output doesn't either. Most players upconvert to help improve video quality.
Speaking of good cheap DVDs... I found the last batch of DVD +Rs from Memorex (at Wally World) were RICOH. They used to make DVDs for the big name brands, including Verbatim. With the cheaper brands always check with DVDInfoPro or one of the other programs to see who did the manufacturing. There's still some stinkers floating around.
