I have had my psp slim for over a year now. Never had this problem since recently too. What would happen is that, sometimes, my psp will freeze in the middle of a game after saving/autosaving or after i recover from sleep mode. After the freeze, I'll have to either take my battery out or hold the power switch to turn it off. If I turn it back on, the green power light will come on, but the screen will be blank. If I turn it on/off for a couple of times and wait for a few hours, it sometimes goes back to normal. Now this only happens sometimes (recently more often). I have tried re-flashing my firmware (5.00 m33-6), but the same thing happens. Is there something wrong with my poploader thingly? Is it out of date? I mean all my games do that sometimes now, not just psx games. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Are you using a dual boot memory stick? I think it might be your memory stick. Try using a different memory stick if you can and see what happens.

Sorry, but, since I do not know how to dual boot, I doubt it is a dual boot memory stick. How would you tell anyways? Besides, I have been using the same stick since...forever now. Also, if the psp won't turn on, I have no way of trying out different memory sticks. I even tried using the pandora battery after reformatting the stick into a magic memory stick. I even held L while placing the battery in...nothing worked. This is soo strange. The reason why I started a new topic is because I had already googled/searched this forum forever now. Anyways, thanks for the suggestion! Appreciated! If anyone else have suggestions, please contribute ^_^

It's still not turning on D: I know it's not bricked because the symptoms are kind of different. The green power light, instead of shutting off after a while, stays on forever. The psp also tends to go back to normal sometimes. Anyone else have the same problem as me?

You said that it was possible to go into recovery mode even when the psp is acting strange? Whenever I get into recovery mode, it pretty much meant that the psp was back to normal.

How does it work with no memory stick or battery inside? Just power it using the ac adapter.

just tried fixing mine today-not successful. downgraded back down to 1.5 then used "one step guide" provided by larrylje.after updating to 3.52 m33-4 (with guide), i proceeded to update to 3.71 m33 and the psp shut itself off. since i've been able to get it to boot a couple times, but i had to wait about 20 minutes in between. otherwise i get green light and black screen. so sometimes i get recov. mode and sometimes xmb! sorry to be so winded, but maybe with the detail someone can help me fix this. i bought this used and it had 3.52 ofw. my friend says it looks like it had been disassembled, so maybe theres more wrong than software?

Hey, I got a question for you. What do you usually do to get your psp to work again? Mine hasn't worked in 2 days now D:

i usually just wait awhile and turn it on-sorry, not any help. it doesn't work right because it keeps shutting off. i've lost track of the number of times it has shut off since last post. now typically if i wait until the next day to turn it on it stay on longer than 20 min., but that's it. i have a slim running 3.90 m33-2 and another phat running same cfw. same pandora battery and mms was used to downgrade all three, but i can't get the third one to work!

I have the Same problem as these guys except mine you have to wait like a week before it turns back on again. I just went out and bought another PSP I think the best you can do (for all I know) is sell the broken one for some cash then buy a new one.
Sometimes I just don't get it...
But that doesn't usually happen =Þ
