My 360's drive was stuck for the longest time, got it unstuck and it works! This is the problem however; the tray opens clunkily, slow and sounds like it could be coming out and in smoother. And, when the disc stops spinning, I hear grinding as the disc spins down!

Like I said, it works, doesn't seem to be scratching my games either, but I have no idea what to do! Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

I find you can feel the tension when the drive belt is attached, but when removed and the tray slid manually, its stops.

I lubed the whole track of the DVD, and cleaned it, a hell of a lot.

The grinding when the disc spins down has stopped, but I'm still getting that odd, best I can describe it, struggling, friction-y, movement of the tray when ejecting and back in. With the lube, it does it less. I've also noticed that the belt seems to be pull the gear its attatched to, toward it, so instead of being nice and flash, its at a very small angle.

Any ideas?

replace it. It's a spiral type gear inside. This pushes and pulls the tray in and out and raises/lowers the dvd laser and inner workings. The grind, if the magnet is still on, is the spinning piece not getting high enough to have the disk clear the tray 100%.

get a new drive and kget it spoofed.. this way you know you're good for a while

no need to spoof, just get another drive like you have and put your pcb board from your old drive in your new drive.

i havent seen a drive yet that doesnt make these noises . and i have to tap/smack the front of all my 360s to open the tray. if i have opened it and put a disc in a played some then it will open fine after that usually but if i move the console any i have to get it unstuck again

If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.
