I am running XP with service pack 1. Whenever I boot up I am asked if I want to install SP2. I tried to install it twice, and both times it got about a third of the way and just stopped! Is there a fix for this? Am I missing anything important in SP2?

im surprised its not asking you to install sp3.you should be able to install that as it combines sp2 and some other updates.

I suggest going one step further and instead of using MS updater service, just download the update and run it.

You dont have to worry about connections with MS timing out or stalling if you are running the update off your own machine.
