well what firmware do u have? i use 2.71 m33-4, i jus get the emulators from psp-hacks.com and drag the folders to my PSP: PSP/GAME,
When u get the ROMS, make a folder in the emulator folder name it "ROMS" and put all your roms in it. for PSX im having a hard time running certain games, and its complicated, Im not a good person to ask about that...
and yes alot opf people on here will assholes for asking noo-like questions, but the way i see it is you have to start somewhere right?

for those having trouble running homebrew on 5.00 try using LEDA and for better psx compatibility try installing the plugin popsloader as well as an emulator pack with 9 emulators and 7,000 roms. links are in my signature.

anyone want to run popsloader download this file http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=f5af5...2db6fb9a8902bda extract it you now have a file called seplugins drag it to the root of your PSP memory card when it asks you if you want to over write seplugins click yes put PSX Eboot games in PSP GAME folder start the game as you would a ISO/CSO 1st time a game loads it brings up a choice of pops choose what the uploader of the game recommends, next time you want to change pops hold down R button then start game, as the game loads it will go to the pops menu and let you choose new pops version.
im using 5.00M33-6
