I notice people talking about buying printable ritek dvd media. Although they can work your better off buying GO3 or GO4 Ritek. Sliver and purple, not white and silver. GO3 and GO4 are much better. Check out the website if your not sure what im taking about.

Huh!!

What ARE you yattering on about???

I agree that is a good place to get DVD Media from, but WHERE on the site does it say you are better off NOT buying printable media??

Here's a couple of tips for you;

1 - It is possible to get Ritek G04 Printable Media, that has all the benefits of being Ritek G04 AND printable (SHOCK!!)

2 - Research, research, research.

Hahaha!!! :-O

And I always thought that Ritek G04 Grade A was Ritek G04 Grade a irrespective of the top colour (Branded Ritek, that is).

Ah well, we all learn something new every day..
even if it is just how poor some people's spelling is ;)

Have Fun guys....

I believe the only fool here is doing a good job of letting everyone know who he is.

The dye for G04's is the same whether they are printable or not.

Please explain to us your theory for Ritek developing a special dye just for printable discs, genius.

I've gotta pick up a bit on my creative side and get rid of my Sharpie. Naw my Sharpie is so much faster than my printer and it works with all media. Does anyone know which Sharpie color is the best for labeling DVDs?

Any color Sharpie but the metallic silver ones. For some reason they just don't show up well on a silver disc :P

I guess I didn't explain very well. Printable labels can have problems in some dvd players, especially in your PS2.

Full agreement there, and I am sure the majority of experienced users would agree also.

I have not noticed ANY threads where "printable" media has been an issue.
But there have been MANY threads where applied labels have been a problem.

There IS a difference between "Printable" media, and media that has had a label applied.

The printable media is a properly manufactured DVD (balance etc).

Media with a label applied later (as one you print yourself, and stick on yourself) is a route to playback problems - we have had a couple of LOOOONNNGGG threads about that, the consensus being Labels Are A Bad Thing(tm).

I use a black tip marker pen on mine...very artistic I may add. Who really cares about printing on DVD's..seems a total waste of time to me..but hey, that's only my opinion.
