OK, I tried to get dvd shrink to work with vista, but I can't figure it out. So my question is, is there a good program for copying a regular dvd movie with vista as your os? I have roxi burn software and anydvd running. I just want something simple and shrink isnt working wiht vista. whats out there?

Did you log onto vista in 'Administrator' mode? From there, you need to change the preferences and run dvd shrink in compatability mode as 'windows xp'.

There are already a few threads dedicated to running dvd shrink on vista. Using the search function would have brought them up.

What?

Have you tried running Shrink in compatibility mode? Right click the icon, select Properties then open the Compatibility tab, tick the box and select the appropriate OS from the pull down menu.

BTW...both my rigs run Vista now and Shrink works just fine on both. :)

You don't choose vista....you choose XP. That is what "Compatability Mode" is made for, to run a program as you would using an earlier OS.

I run vista on my laptop, and have no problem using dvd shrink.

Thanks, I got it work. I reinstalled my Nero 6. I use to have shrink open up and say "checking for discs" I would put in a blank disc and it would just burn. My burn software was nero 6. Now shrink is asking me to burn the compliation with windows media and a couple of other windows programs? How do I set that part up corrrectly?

Download the superior burn engine; Imgburn.

Free from http://www.imgburn.com

Then, either burn manually with Imgburn or set up Dvd Shrink to call on Imgburn for autoburning.
