I installed the Wii Drive Key, was able to access the menu, was able to burn an image of Wii Music and was able to play it no problem.
After turning off the Wii for a bit, I wanted to play it again, I tried the same backup DVD, and it seems that it will not play anymore.
The disc is brand new, clean and unscratched. The Drive Key still is active (I can get to the menu and I can play an original non-backup game).
Anyone have any ideas as to what could cause this?
Thanks.

its hardly a idiotic reply when you have to pay a fortune 4 Verbatim disks just to play games when my soft modded wii plays 5 cent disc,s just fine and my soft mod was free and did not void my warranty so get your facts straight newbie

Yeah, I payed 26 bucks (Canadian) for 100 Verbatim discs at Staples.
Comment is still idiotic and did not help a bit with the problem.

Dude, chill! I agree that your reply did not address his problem. How can you say that there is a difference in media on softmod vs. modchip. There is not difference, its the same drive that reads the disc.
You need to get YOUR facts straight.
Goooool, can you get into the config menu?

I had the same problem. Made a backup of a game I just bought. Played the original and it worked great. Went to load the backup again so my 4 year old daughter could play and it gave errors reading the disc. Those 4 year old can chew up the original discs with finger prints, chewing, etc.
Made another backup, this time at 2.4x and it worked great. 3 days and 5 loads later still working.
I just purchased poolhall pro and I am trying burning it at 8x rather than 16x. I have a new drivekey purchased from ebay for 38 with free shipping. We will see how fast I can burn backup and have them be reliable.
By the way, I am using verbatim dvd+r 16x 100 pack from Costco. 26 cents per disc doesnt seem high priced to me.
Good luck with your backups, Cheers.
