eurovox ex 1000 SL firmware problem

Hi Guys.

Trying to flash a eurovox ex1000 sl for a friend. i noticed there's no manual power on/off button! i dont have the remote control.
can i still load the firmware with the box just plugged in( red ight on )iv'e loaded the firmware and it say's succesful on the pc screen but does the box have to be turned on first with a remote?
any help appreciated.

You are supposed to flash it in standby so if it said successful then it has taken the firmware. You will need the remote to power-scan the channels once you have taken it back to your friends.

Have to say ye guy's provide a great voluntary service. ye should be working in banks maybe we wouldent be in such a mess then.
