Hi I'm new to the afterdawn,
I bought the CK3 Lite, installed portIO32, connected, and I've got the io32 showing up in the XP device manager. I've connected the Lite-on sata to my VIA card, (i've tried my onboard as well). I have a home-made probe, and my multimeter checks out from both ends and the probe. Whenever I try to read the key with Jungleflasher it comes back all 0's, and when I use CK3 tool it comes back 0000: CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC. Just in case the problem was with my probe, I've tried xtractor tool 2.6 with a screwdriver held acros the R707 pads. I've tried dozens of configurations for about 10 hours with different dvd drive position power on power off eject etc...
Does this mean my CK3 Lite is defective? If so what should I do since I've spliced a wire into my power cord.
Or is anyone perhaps in the Austin TX area that could try to help me work with this?

probably your probe. try it again and make sure you have all your cables right and no bare wire touching anywhere. using the home made one can be pretty tricky. its taken me a long time to get keys with it before.

Thanks, is there any way to confirm that the ck3 works before I give in and buy an official probe?

Yeah, the led is blue (red when modeb is active) the on/off switch seems to work and the eject button also works.

Haha thanks, I'm sure i've got it plugged in right.
When the power's plugged into the CK3 lite, the top leftmost cable is where i splice in the probe right?
