so ya, im going to be picking up a ps2 soon from gamestop(slim version) with modding it somehow in mind

ive looked up and learned a decent bit about the whole process, and as of right now im leaning towards the swap magic route with the flip top

the only disadvantages ive learned of swap magic are having to swap disks(obviously, but its not a big issue for me), not compatible with dvd9 games, although from what i looked at, the only dvd9 games id want to play are the god of wars and gran turismo 4(but ive heard you can pack it or something to make it work, i duno, i have to look more into that)

so are there any other real disadvantages of going with swap magic rather than a chip( i dont have any expereince with soddering and i dont think i really know too many people who do)?

will i be able to use snes-station with swap magic?

what are the best dvds to burn backups on(brand? dvd-r or dvd+r?)

All help and extra info will be much apprecieted!

Yes you can use SNES-STATION with Swap Magic.
DVD-R are the best to use.

Once you get your Swap Magic you could install fmcb 1.8 and use ESR to play backups.

http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials/fmcb/

It tells you what files to download for the INSTALL

http://psx-scene.com/forums/freevast/58441-esr-public-beta.html

The link above explains ESR and what it can do.

hmmm, im a tab bit confused now

I did not hear about these programs, fmcb and ESR when i was looking up on all of this

so i need a usb flash drive to use these programs right?

i plan on putting snes-station on a disk, as with all my back ups, and thats really the only things i plan to do, do i need these programs?

because of now im almost leaning toward the chip since i found a reasonably reliable guy online(has some good feedback and i talked to him a bit) selling pre-chiped ps2's for a good price(compared to other ridiculously priced places) @ http://www.sell.com/23S7WZ

If you can get a pre-chipped PS2, then that is the way too go.

Yes you can put your SNES-STATION on a USB drive
