ive just bought a faulty 360 console from ebay.the dvd drive is a toshiba samsung ms28.the fault with the console was the drive itself.ive bought a new drive and swapped the pcb boards over.no joy.there is no power to the drive.i cant extract the drive key so to replace the drive.can anyone help please.

If you swapped the PCB boards and it still doesn't work, I'd say the PCB board is shot. So you are saying there is no way for you to try and extract the DVD Key?

thats right.ive tried numerous times and nothing.is there a company online that can extract it? or am i just looking at taking a loss on this one?

yeah does sound like you got a brick there are many poeple that can get the key by removeing the ic chip and using an external progamer i no of gt electronics in scotland there very good ive had to use them once and seervice was good although their prices are a little steep try google for authorized repairers hope this helps also have you tried getting power through the console or u using connectivity or somthing

talk to bhetrick. im pretty sure he can desolder the tsop chip and read it and get the key for you. send him a PM and he can probably do something to help you out.
