SW PSP slim w/failed UMD drive

as the subject reads, i have a SW psp slim and the umd drive is junk, im just about to go the pandora/mms route but wondered if before i do, that me not having the functioning drive will hamper me at all with CFW. if i dont need it, i might as well just rip it out and put something more useful in its place, like a hard drive. any suggestions?

You dont need the drive for cfw unless you are going to use the gta:lcs or lumines methods. Hope this helps

No hard drives but umd drives are replaceable.

And yeah, CFW dont need UMD unless you want to watch UMD video-movie ISO.
