Bought a battery and mem card off some website but having trouble getting anything out of it, situation is bricked psp with nothing but a green light coming on when the battery is inserted.

Getting the exact same result when I try to boot from ther pandora battery - anybody got ani idea why its not working.

Thanks.

I had bought a Pandora "Tool" Battery from Finch Mall a while ago and I got nothing outta it. Basically it was DOA. I finally gave up and was lucky enough to find my old modded psp so I could make a pandora battery myself.

I'm guessing a lot of these tools are fakes.

I got my tool from Here; and its never let me down. Make note of the compatibility at the bottom of the page... something about a Chinese version of the PSP. Good luck man.

Do you even have a magic memory stick inserted? Your description was useless. If you do not have one, make one. And if you do have one, check if the magic memory stick is really magic (check if you correctly installed cfm stuff), if it was not correct it. However, if that does not work, check if your psp is capable of being modded v088v3 psp 2001 with 4.01 ofw motherboards are not modifiable. Also check the sequence you do your magic. Magic memorycard, hold correct button, pop in battery, and watch the magic.

guyod, yes I have the stick inserted, done it holding l and tried holding r too. The psp is way old (original 1.50 thats been through a few custom firmwares, bricked from trying a pandora battery-maker program on it) so I dont know if that would affect it.

I have no way of reading the card to see whats on it at the moment, but I bought it as part of a package and assume it should have the apropriate files on it. I am waiting to get hold of a friends psp so I can hook it up to usb and see whats on there for sure.

dude the kit is just a kit and the memory card is most likely blank. get a psp and make that memory stick into the magic it deserve to be. I am not for certain if i am correct and that memory card is blank, but i think the companies rather not put such files on a memory stick if they did not have the copy rights too them. The memory card you got is probably a blank compatible ms pro duo. PS: I only suggest you get another psp to do your magic memory stick, because the chances of it being written properly is higher with a psp then a adapter or ms slot.

Again I say this pandora is probably a fake... sorry but I don't trust any sites any more selling the "pandora" battery.

i have similar problems. i have psp 2001. i created my own MMS from this site http://www.psperspective.net/index.php?showtopic=2811. and i bought my pandora battery from http://www.pandorabatterybuys.com/. Its a TOOL 3.6V 1800 mAh. My PSP currently has 5.02 OFW but i am downgrading to 3.71 CFW. I turn my PSP completly off. I hold L button down, then I inserted the TOOL battery. but i get black screen with the LED green powerlight on (its not flashing or blinkihg).......Is the problem my battery or did i make the MMS wrong? and if I made it wrong what are some good sites to make one?

I just had and solved this same problem - are you trying to flash under vista? I dont know what the kit you bought may use, but the final step of what i used was the PSP MS IPL Installer - you can see it HERE under creating a magic memory stick. Vista was skipping that screen and I didnt pay it any attention, unknown to me it was that step that created the menu accessed in service mode. Try the process in XP or XP compatibility mode and it should solve it.

I hope this helps!
