I have an extra MS28 Samsung drive sitting around and I have read that its possible to flash this and use a 0800 disc to make it possible to backup games easily in Windows. My question is actually several.

1.whats the process for this?


2. Are these backups already stealth and safe even if not verified in abgx?


3. What is the best software to use for such Backup?


4. Can I just use a Connectivity kit(ie. CK3 or 360Xtractor Pro) so I would not need Xbox to power drive.

4a. If so Which would you recommend or doesnt matter?

ok most of those are for upgrading old xtreme firmware not using 0800 with newer firmware for the sole purpose of backing up. But i do see it is just a matter of letting the drive read the disc(i think). that still leaves ? 2-4 unanswered.

ok after using the search some more and reading more i have found some people say the drive has to be actually flashed to 0800 firmware not just pu t the 0800 disc in as i Thought. is this true? Not a problem if so just need to find the firmware as I currently have a activate.iso file that is supposed to be 0800. if i get the firmware can i just flash with jungle flasher?

so after much trial and error and searching i found xtreme0800.bin and flashed it to my drive. Had to then take that drive off my via card and connect to onboard sata. XBC detects drive and unlocks and will now allow Security sectors to be removed, However the image copy seems to be very slow. with the hot swap method using wxripper it only takes about 20-25 min.With XBC this is currently at 20 min and is only 25% complete. should i use a different program to copy with or deal with the speed?
