I've heard a rumor that you can share downloaded content between consoles and profiles, I'm not referring to the console or profile that purchased the content but rather sharing the content between that console and another console that does not have a profile that has purchased that content. Is that possible?

I wouldn't talk about piracy here.
I have downloaded content to my 360 with my gamertag. Taken my profile on my memory card and signed into a different 360. Downloaded the same content and signed out. My friend signed in and tried to access the content and it wouldn't work. The content you download is linked to your Live account.

Wasn't asking how to pirate it, just wondering if it was possible, but thanks, should probably edit and remove that.

You can TALK about piracy all you want here. This is from the Forum rules:
Case examples regarding rule number five (5). No piracy.
Case: Pirated material, such as serial numbers and direct links to pirated, copyrighted material (including direct links to torrent files and ed2k links). PROHIBITED
Case: Posting "descrambling codes" or similar codes that allow unlicensed viewing of protected material. PROHIBITED
Case: Technical, in depth discussion about copy protection circumvention (i.e. cracking). PROHIBITED
Case: Discussion about pirated content and piracy, such as converting (downloaded) video and/or audio files to DVD/AudioCD/whatever format. PERMITTED
Case: Discussion about copy protection circumvention in general (extracting encrypted content, such as DVD movies, compact discs, copy protected console and computer software, using existing software). PERMITTED
Case: Links to sites offering possibly pirated content (including torrent files and ed2k links). PERMITTED

I don't think you quite understand the rules. I've highlighted the original question in red and what it violates in black for you. His/Her question would of eventually led to some one posting something on how to do it. So that is why I said that "I" wouldn't talk about it here.

i think 2 of these rules contradict themselves anyway...this one
Case: Discussion about copy protection circumvention in general (extracting encrypted content, such as DVD movies, compact discs, copy protected console and computer software, using existing software). PERMITTED
and this one
Case: Technical, in depth discussion about copy protection circumvention (i.e. cracking). PROHIBITED
To me extracting encrypted content is the same as cracking almost. i mean it is encrypted to protect it right so if you bypass encryption protections isnt this technically the same as bypassing copy protection. So we can discuss bypassing encrytions but we cant discuss cracking...i dont see how they differ cause the end result is basically the same.
If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

The way I interpret the cracking vs bypassing is they are one in the same, however the technical in depth discussion I take to mean...
"I found the source code for DVD Decrypter and I'm going to revamp it and make it current and better, can someone help me create a deCSS engine?"
In other words this rule takes the developers out of afterdawn so they can't create tools like RipIt4Me, DVDFab, AnyDVD etc. and turn us all in to beta testers for latest and greatest circumvention tool. I'm sure each moderator/staff member/ admin has their own take on this...but this is how I see it.
Now the original question would definately fall under the piracy rule, but since the opener has been reworded I'll leave this one open for now...but will be watching to make sure it doesn't get out of hand.
To the rest, if you find a post or thread which you feel violates the forum rules please use the "report offensive post" link so that you won't be caught preaching the rules and breaking Rule 14 yourself.
Quote: 14. If you see a post that violates any of these rules, please report it to our moderators using the "Report an offensive post" link. Do not play the role of a moderator if you are not one. There is absolutely no need to nitpick on the posts of new users. Let the moderators do their work.

Sorry dude. I understand the rules quite well. By the time I got to this post, the part about the points had been edited already. ---Chikn
