Ok, so I'm kind of hesitant to post this because this could be an oversight by Netflix and Microsoft that they could fix, but I'll risk it for any of you who live outside the US and would like to have netflix on the xbox 360. I live in South Korea (English teacher- get paid to speak your mother tongue!) and I have a North American xbox 360 with an xbox live account that I had set up back home. Everything I've read about Netflix on the Xbox says you can't do it outside of the U.S., but I succesfully logged in this weekend. No hacks, no ip redirects, nothing. I plugged in my wireless adapter, went to video marketplace, and logged in. To sign up for netflix and to add stuff to my queue I have to use ultrasurf, but when I turn on the xbox everything is factory setup. So, if any of you live outside the US and would like Netflix, check it out. If it doesn't work, the secret may be to set up an American XBL.
Also, all the demo material and anything else you could download acts as if I'm in the U.S.
So, is this because the XBOX 360 is from America or because the XBL was set up there?
its cuz when you setup XBL you used a Live passport email address and when u sighnd up fr that it asked your location, you entered US. o now your XBL account is locked in as US. you can go and create a new passport and make your location England and when you sighn into XBL with it you will get all euro content
So basically if you live outside the states and you want a service like Netflix or your country has some blocks on demos (I think I read something about that in South Africa), all you have to do is register a US XBL profile?
