Formatting an 8gb memory stick to FAT16

I recently upgraded to an 8gb stick from a 4gb stick. With the 4gb, I had to format it to FAT16 to stop some games from lagging. Does this need to be done with the 8gb as well?...I havent loaded anything yet, but a couple guys i talked to said they did it anyway...

SO i tried it the way I did the 4gb and it doesnt seem to want to format...
I use the command prompt and enter:

format I: /FS:FAT

where I is my drive, it goes to 100% and closes...I check the drive and its still FAT32...

any thoughts?

my FW is 3.71 M33-4 on a 1001 system...if it matters...

Sorry...another thing of note is that it is a Sandisk card,....

i just saw a video on youtube that says you cannot format Sandisks into FAT16...is this true as well?

try this, use a pc and do a quick format and then do a normal fat16 format.
