My question is on restoring my Hitachi to original fw so when 1.51 comes out I can flash my 360 over. I don't know if I need the original fw .bin's (47_16-12x, key, was, and now.) I was reading the 360mods tutorial "Hacking 360 for Noobs" and it says I simply must run the "Restore.bat" file included with iXtreme. If it helps I'm currently running iXtreme Stealthed 1.41. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great.
Thank you for the quick reply!
Why would anyone need to restore old firmware then? I was under the impression if I didn't I'd be at a huge risk for bricking my drive. It says in the tut
"Upgrading From Older Firmware?
If you are upgrading from an older hacked firmware, like a previous GaryOPA firmware, a Birdy firmware, or Commodore4Eva firmware, you must restore your drive to the original firmware before continuing. If you are flashing the firmware to a stock drive, ignore this section and skip to ?Flashing The Drive"
I'm not reflashing it backwards. I'm restoring the drive to original firmware before adding new up to date hacked firmware to it. I'm not sure you understand what I'm asking.
Can you tell me why they include restore.bat in iXtreme? and in the iXtreme readme it says "If you have flashed your drive in the past use RESTORE first. If it is a brand new drive use directly the Flash command you like."
its just there incase you have a bad flash. Plus always save your original bin file somewhere safe if you flashing or spoofing. that way if something goes wrong you can restore to original. i've done a flash on my hitachi47 and it went bad. It flashed the drive but also replaced the drive key for some reason. its jsut there incase if you need it.
