Problem with Xbox Live

I have been using xbox live for some time now, but a few days ago a problem apeard: I connect to xbox live but after a few seconds or minutes I get disconnected. This has been happening for about 3 days. Does anyone know what might be the problem?

is ur xbox modded in anyway?
has ur live subscription ended?
is the network cable pluged in?
is ur modem turned on?

Yes it is modded, but I don't play games online. I just use Xbox Live for demos and to watch videos. About the subscription I always had silver. The internet works fine on the PC.

connected to router? is the router wireless? any errors when testing connection?
Check Ethernet cable- try a different one

if its wireless do you have security enabled someone else could be using xbox live off your connection and some routers will only support one xbox at a time with out disconnecting the other one.

check MTU and UPNP settings but should have been a problem before if using same router.

try switching it with another one. If you have no router how do you have Pc and xbox hooked up? do you switch the cable between them?

if you connect to live at all you are not banned. Do a connection test it will fail and say you are banned. if not you are ok and have a network problem

I did a connection test yesterday and it didn't say anything about a ban. It said everything is ok. At least I know that much, thanks
